Onboarding

Step 1: Book Your Free 30-minute Consultation

At no cost or obligation to you, we will meet with you to answer your questions regarding the tutoring process and experience. During this step, you are given the opportunity to express your concerns and goals, while we gain insight into how to execute your next appointment. We will answer any questions you may have while providing you with all the information you require.

Step 2: Student Discovery Meeting or Assessment

Academic Strategies Program: Discovery Meeting

Come in for a scheduled appointment where we discover your learning challenges, habits, and current strategies. Through a personalized interview, we partner with you to determine the areas and skills we will focus on to make your post-secondary experience easier and more enjoyable. The Discovery Meeting is used to design your support plan, customized to have the fastest results and greatest impact on your pressing needs. If you are prioritizing essay-writing skills as part of your Academic Strategies program, we may recommend a combined Discovery Meeting and Partial Writing Assessment (see below).

Language or Math Remedial Program: Assessment

If you are enrolling in one of our renowned language or math programs, we will hold an assessment that evaluates your knowledge, skills, and neurological processes in that subject area. Assessments are available for Reading (& Spelling), Writing, Reading Comprehension, and Math. During this appointment, we will determine what your individualized tutoring will look like based on your demonstrated skills.

30-minute Follow-up Meeting (Assessment Only – Optional)

If necessary, a follow-up meeting may be scheduled, providing you with further insight into your Language or Math assessment. This meeting will also cover an explanation of the remedial plan, recommendations for attendance frequency, and address any further questions.

Step 3: Welcome & Official Registration

Before our admin team adds you to the schedule, you will be provided with a welcome package including a registration form, a schedule and start date request form, and a review of our policies and processes.

Step 4: Build Your Schedule

The schedule is set based on availability, with your requests and preferences taken into consideration. We offer sessions in a variety of lengths based on your personal schedule throughout the year. You can also decide between ongoing or term tutoring, where we offer a schedule for the needed terms, aligning with University terms (Winter, Spring, and Summer.) Summer students may need to be more flexible for July and August, based on tutor availability. Sessions occur between 7:05 am and 7:15 pm, Monday through Friday.

In-Person & Visual Tutoring Offered

We offer both in-person and virtual sessions for students. Sessions are only one-on-one, ensuring the instructor can direct the lesson to the student’s needs for the entire duration. Our in-person option is distraction-free and features a learning-conducive environment. Virtual sessions are designed to maintain high student engagement through interactive and focused learning.
