General Information

How many times per week do students typically come for tutoring?

Most students usually attend 2 to 3 times a week. Mind Over learning makes a recommendation based on our assessment and on the goals and objectives set by the parent and/or the student.

Where do tutoring sessions take place?

Mind Over Learning is conveniently located in the heart of Kelowna between Spall and Kirschner. Our Centre offers an optimal learning environment for each student. See our Contact Us page for our precise location.

Who teaches the students?

We have Specialized Language Consultants and Instructors as well as Specialized Math Consultants and Instructors who have extensive training and experience in autism, ADHD, NVLD, FASD, dyslexia and dyscalculia.

Are all students assessed?

Every student is assessed before entering any of our programs.

Why is an assessment necessary?

The assessment helps us build the students’ neuro-profile, which identifies the underlying causes of their learning strengths and weaknesses. It also allows us to evaluate their foundational knowledge, developed habits, and coping strategies so we can design an individualized program plan for each student.

Who conducts the initial assessment?

At Mind Over Learning the assessment is conducted by a Specialized Language or Math Learning Consultant who is an expert in learning disorders and disabilities commonly seen in students with autism, NVLD, ADHD, dyslexia, FASD and language processing disorders.
